Hello Friends,

iam fairly new to this whole Camera setup.

I just bought some Cameras from EmpireTech and iam coming up with some Problems.

My setup is:

Camera via Cat7 in Patchpanel and then with normal Patchcable into NVR. NVR is connection via Patchcable into Unifi Gateway Ultra.

My Problem:

1. My Live footage has micro stuttering every 1-2 seconds. How can i solve this issue. ((It also says "quality Link" = bad with 10mbps/3.8 Watt(i read that some have the same and just ignore it.))

Code: H.265
Bittype: CBR
Bitrate: 8192

Substream
Code: H.265
Bittype: CBR
Bitrate:1536

2. I activated all AI features on NVR. On the DMSS App is sends me only Massenges from "License recognized", but not when humens are recognized. I turned everything on in the app and on the NVR it also detect the humens.

Just for info, i havent got any HDD connected yet. I just orderd a 8TB WD Purple.

Iam really happy to get some help from you guys.

Happy new Year,
Roman

First thing, turn off H.265 and use h.264 or h.264H

Next check your cables.

Next, activating “all AI features on NVR”
Why did you not activate the AI on the camera itself? Typically better than using the NVR for AI which limits the NVR bandwidth and processing capacity.

Do you know how to login to the cameras GUI directly?

Lastly, are you viewing via DMSS on your phone on your LAN/wifi or remotely? Are you using P2P or a direct IP connection to the NVR?

Thanks for your reply.

I setup my NVR like in the Video from Andy. Changed IP to my Home IP and everything worked straight away.

I plugged in the Camera and it showed to the NVR.

I downloaded DMSS and i could see the footage.

Iam happy to follow your instructions. So you are telling me, i should activate the Cameras AI instead of NVR?

Iam sorry to ask for instructions to do, not really sure how to go into Camera instead of NVR.

Thanks for help.

Yes. You need to learn to make setting changes in the Camera UI.
Only make settings on the NVR when the feature isnt available or applies to the camera. Like Recording Schedule and AI search

In the NVR there is a tab marked "Cameras" Each camera is listed there in the bottom pane.
Each has a blue IE button. Click that IE button and it will open the camera UI

Similar to this

No, thats the NVR's limited access to camera settings

Click on the Word SETTINGS top Left, you should get other menu choices, look for Camera

Or could be the Tab Remote Device? You have a newer UI than me

I finally got there :)

What do i have to turn on here?

I cant turn on smart detection, is says something about something different will be disabled :D It says it conflicts mit the smart plan.

Ok you have a ton to learn and I can’t devote the next 2-3 hours to walking you through it.

Basically no don’t turn on ANY of that.

You need to go to AI, set Smart Plan for IVS only. Use the IVS tools to draw tripwires and intrusion zones and human/vehicle filters.

Understand the top level concept

NVR is for recording schedule and search/playback

Image, detection, camera exposure etc All should be done on each individual camera

Video detection/smart detection are old technology that create many false alerts.
Turn these OFF on the NVR if they are enabled.
Instead you should use AI tools like IVS to define detection

On the NVR only need to set Recording Schedule and Record Mode under Storage

Ok i think i got it now.

The only thing wondering is, when i try to set trip wires, the cam always start to reaload itself und the image is gone for like 2 seconds. Then i can draw my lines again. Then the Camera lags out again and its like freeze. Its then buffering only.

Could be the browser you're using?
IE, Edge in IE mode, or Pale Moon 32

If not browser, it may be your network not keeping up

Make sure under "event linkage" you have everything added you need.

So ive tested some things like cable and so on, seems everything ok.

I used safari and chrome. But the footage straight from the NVR is also stuttering. I really cant find die reason for it.

I cant make the settings for like tripwires because of that. Dont really sure whats going on.

I have 1Gbit internet.

Try Edge with the IE tab or Pale Moon.

Or better yet Internet Explorer. Yeah we know, but it is still available.

The speed of your internet service is irrelevant. It is your internal system that would be the issue.

Hello thanks for your help.

Ive tested now the socond Camera straight to the NVR in the basement. Seems perfect, so it might be something going on with the cable going trough a patch panel. Maybe i should straight plug in in the NVR without Patchpanel.

Now as this problem ist solved finally haha the next question is:

I will deactivate all AI Settings in the NVR and set all Settings direct from each Camera like i need them to.

Will i get automatic the Pushmails via DMSS on that way or do i have to do something to make that work?

Before i made the settings direct on the Camera i just got "license plate recognised" from the DMSS app even i went in the settings just checking humen detection.

Anything i have to know here?

Already sorry for all my question, i give my best to learn new stuff:)

Yes
DMSS gets its info from the NVR anyway. The alerts triggered by the camera are sent to the NVR then to DMSS

You still have the checkbox for push alerts enabled on the NVR and setup email on the NVR. The cameras send both to the NVR which pushes alerts and sends the email

do i have to add the NVR to server under "event linkage"?

and andy had a video showing how to change the ip adress from the camera. is that nacessary to me if the camera works with the NVR and i can go to in direct via web ip?

NVR to server?
No

Yes they’ll work fine as you have them . No need to change camera IPs unless they are connected to an external switch

Thanks. New Big Problem.

The UI from the Camera Said that there is a Problem with the IP.

Then I saw, that the cam was 10.1.1.65 but my Network was at 192.168.3.x.

I changed the Camera IP to 192.168.3.y

And the default Gateway( was set to 192.168.1.x) also to 192.168.3.xy. Same as the NVR because i thought it es Connected to the NVR so this must be the default Gateway.

Now the cam is gone cant see it on NVR and cant get it via entered IP due web.

Now really fukd up. Dont know what to do.
