I picked up an empiretech camera the other day to test. Reolink and annke have their own app to make viewing a bit easier. The only thing I see for empiretech seems like DMSS or SmartPSS but they don't seem specifically branded. Just curious what you'd recommend.

Also the config tool has one detection on virustotal.

Any of the Dahua utilities will be compatible. Andy has not customized or written any software of that nature @ this point that I am aware of.
Interesting, thanks for that info. Is Empiretech a small business? It sure seems like it. I'm getting a bit curious about the company itself. They seem to have some solid products and the quality of the product seems really good. I was surprised by the metal housing.

He is a reseller of Dahua cams. He rebrands actual Dahua cams and sells them under his brand name.

You don't need config tool for cameras. All you have to do is make sure your computer and the subnet are both the same.
The cams default IP address is 192.168.1.108, just plug that into a browser and away you go.

Yes, small business. Empiretech will take care of you.

DMSS is the phone app
SmartPSS Lite is for the PC/Desktop

How does the object detection work in the T54IR-ZE S3? Does it somehow work in parallel with blue iris or is the benefit in saving onboard data?

Object detection is the camera is completely separate than BI.

One can use just the object detection of the camera (suggest IVS) and have that trigger BI.

One can use BI for motion detection.

One can use both the camera and BI motion detection.

Most here prefer the AI of the camera over the BI AI - and the benefit is it keeps computer CPU down.

I wrote up my experience learning to set up in-camera motion detection. It may save you some time figuring it out.

Thanks, makes sense. I'm looking for speed/accuracy so I'm curious whether an i7-6700t is faster running YOLOv5 on four cameras than individual object detection on one camera (looking at 2 more).

I'm also curious what optimal settings are for the t54ir-ze S3

In my experience the camera AI is faster.

What do mean by settings? Like shutter and contrast?

alright, I've got it plugged in and configured to an IP. For Main and Sub streams, I'm a bit confused. The camera IP shows 224.1.2.4 which is way out of range of the IP assigned to it.

The static IP is set. I added it to BI but now I'm working on finding the main and sub streams along with various other settings.

Best practice is to hit add camera and then type in IP address and username and password and hit find/inspect and let BI do its thing.

Most Dahua/Empiretech cameras will show up as generic and it will populate the mainstream and substream for you automatically.
