I'm getting a bit closer to actually buying one to test. From prior conversations, it seems the T54IR-ZE S3 was the best camera for what I'm looking for. I like the IR aspect just in case there's no power I can illuminate for an extended period. I like the fact the aperture works well with the 4MP resolution. I'm hoping BI is able to perform faster and clearer object detection. I just wanted to check to make sure there's not something else you'd recommend.

EmpireTech 4MP Ultra Low Light IP Camera,Starlight IR Motorized 2.7mm-12mm Lens Turret Camera,IP67,Built-in Mic,POE and ePOE,Vehicle and Human Detection,IPC-T54IR-ZE S3 White

That is still the go to camera and with the S3 version, even more so.

Don't know if you typo'd, but the camera is 4MP not 4K.

Yeah that's my bad, good catch.

Are there any others in the 8MP range with a larger aperture? It should be interesting to test the 4MP next to the current C-800's. I'm hoping to see a dramatic improvement.

I also noticed @EMPIRETECANDY mentioned a sale but they're still cheaper on amazon.

I just noticed this though:
Start Time North America
ET Mar. 18th - 0000
PT Mar. 17th - 2000

End Time North America
ET Mar. 23rd - 2400
PT Mar. 23rd - 2000

The 4K/T turret and 4K/X are on a larger aperture, but that larger aperture creates, especially for the turret camera, a very small focus area of about 17-24ish feet and anything shorter or longer than that is soft/blurry.

Further, those cameras do not see infrared, so if you don't have enough light or don't want to run with the built-in white LEDs, it would be the wrong choice.

Most here prefer the 54IR over the 8MP cameras.

I will post the sales price tomorrow, this IPC-T54IR-ZE S3 camera blow out most cams on the market.

Here is the spec comparison. 54IR on left and 4M-T on right.

Having both cameras, I would put the edge to the 4M-T for the fixed lens camera as it is more versatile with the two-way talk and white and infrared LEDs. But keep in mind this thread is about the varifocal which doesn't exist yet for the 4M-T

Important to some, the IPC-T54IR-ZE S3 IVS can trigger on animals. The IPC-Color4M-TL IVS is blind to them.
