Moved BI to new (to me) machine. After a day or so I started getting this continuously for the last couple days:

1 3/5/2016 6:41:45 PM Cam2 Signal: network retry
4 3/5/2016 6:41:45 PM Cam2 Signal: restored
1 3/5/2016 6:42:15 PM Cam2 Signal: network retry
4 3/5/2016 6:42:15 PM Cam2 Signal: restored
1 3/5/2016 6:42:46 PM Cam2 Signal: network retry
4 3/5/2016 6:42:46 PM Cam2 Signal: restored
1 3/5/2016 6:43:16 PM Cam2 Signal: network retry
4 3/5/2016 6:43:16 PM Cam2 Signal: restored
1 3/5/2016 6:43:46 PM Cam2 Signal: network retry
4 3/5/2016 6:43:46 PM Cam2 Signal: restored
1 3/5/2016 6:44:16 PM Cam2 Signal: network retry
4 3/5/2016 6:44:16 PM Cam2 Signal: restored
1 3/5/2016 6:45:01 PM Cam2 Signal: network retry

Note that with BI and the cam OEM softwre both open in different windows, I can watch the signal drop out on BI while the OEM software displays the stream uninterrupted. This was observed as the cam was viewing activity where an interruption would have been obvious (not a static image).
Cam is connected by ethernet with its own power supply to a netgear gigabit switch, to a Ubiquity Edgerouter lite. BI PC connected to same switch.
Set to 480x270 and 6fps, though it is capable of 720p and 30fps, and was used for a few weeks that way.
DTD

Troubleshooting steps:
Increased bitrate incrementally up to 1024kbps currently. Was working for months at 128kbps.
BI Receive buffer increased from default 3 to 10, then to 20.
BI Frame rate set to match cam at 6FPS. Checkbox for Adjust automatically is checked and grayed out.
Attempted to set BI frame rate to 5 (cam sending 6), but it must see the mismatch because it auto-adjusts to 7.5 and looses audio.
Deleted the cam in BI and re-added it.
Rebooted the cam multiple times.
Power cycled the cam.
Rebooted PC.
Restarted BI service.

Auto reboot is disabled. No services running on cam (motion detection, pre-record, digital i/o, etc.) SNTP is running.
Host PC: Optiplex i5-2400, 8GB, 500GB+2TB, Win7Pro, headless, accessed with Teamviewer. Nothing else running on PC. It hangs out at about 26% CPU, logged in with TV and BI console open. Old PC was an Athlon II x4 620. No issues w this cam but it did idle at well over 50%CPU.
3 other cams running at 720p/10fps, 1 at 720p/2fps (no recording), 1 at 1080p/10fps, and 1 at 1080p/15fps. All DTD.

Additionally, this showed up in the log as well:
1 3/5/2016 6:41:21 PM Cam2 PTZ: 12029: /onvif/device_service
1 3/5/2016 6:41:23 PM Cam2 PTZ: 12029: /onvif/device_service

Went in BI and unchecked the box: Enable pan/tilt/zoom . . . The camera does not have this function and none of the other ones had this box checked.

Sorry for such a long post, just wanted to try and get all the info I could into it.

If anyone knows what to check next, I would really appreciate some suggestions, Im all out of ideas.

Thank you

@0kool What brand and model is the camera, what URL are you using. Ive seen this reported with foscams and their clones. The fact that the video is stable in the cameras own viewer is irrelevant is it does not use the same protocol.
First thing to try is test the stream in VLC, see how it acts there.

Hi fenderman, VLC needs to re-login about every minute or so. Camera is a SpyTec Aeon NC128PW.
Been using this stream: /live/0/h264.sdp
This one does the same:
/live/0/mpeg4.sdp

If vlc is having the same problem then its the camera. I would contact the seller and see if there is a firmware upgrade.
