EZVIZ ? Who uses it or is it generally not recommended ?

Yep new to IP cams... Just rec'd two DS-2CD2132F-IS's to which I'm going to just use the SD Card instead of an NVR.

For remote access, i noticed EZVIZ, and its free app on iOS.

Is the caveat to this, that it uses uPnP ?

Is there a monthly subscription ? There's no mention of one on the site, but i hate to register, give all my details and at the last step, it asks for your credit card...

Use iVMS 4500 for your phone..its the original Hikvision app. should be free

OK so you don't use EZVIZ, i get that, but do others ?

I find it not to be as stable as ivms-4500 and to use a cloud as part of any security system is just not secure at all.

How else does the camera find my phone for push notifications?

I believe the iVMS 4500 HD app does use Hik servers in some way - because even when I configured the phone app using the internal network IP of the camera (192.168.XXX.XXX), the camera used to send push notifications to my phone which was on an external 3G network!!! Note: I am not using EZVIZ.

So the app on my phone on an external network maintained a link to my camera on the internal home network. WIthout using Hik servers, how can this work???
