Hello

I have bougt a dahua camera set.
Why dahua? Because the alarm function.

My set:
# Dahua DHI-NVR4416-16P-4KS2/I
3x # IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV / HDW3849HP-AS-PV S3 8 MP
# Dahua VTO2311R-WP
(For now only 3 cameras)

The biggest problem is, i cant setup the face recognition. I become this failure; "Reached MAX capability of AI analysis"

I have set the fps to 25 but it dint help.
Detail on the product page says FR by camera what will this mean for me?

Do i have a wrong nvr??

What i want is. The camera need to recognize the people from the house, the can enter whitout problems the garden. If a unknowed person/thief/maskes person enter the garden the alarm(ligts and siren) should go work.

You have the wrong gear.

Face recognition simply means it sees a face and triggers on that - simply another form of human AI.

What you want isn't available in that camera or NVR. I believe you need to get to the 6000 series NVR for that capability to label people and you are at the 4000 series.

In fact that camera is a totally wrong choice for anything other than the flashing light and audio alarm.

This is active deterrence camera that is an 8MP on a 1/2.8" sensor, so it is on a horrible MP/sensor ratio. You cannot have enough light at night for it to perform well.

Even worse, this 8MP is on the same sensor and CPU as a 2MP non TIOC camera so they had to limit bitrate and other parameters on the 3849 to try to make it functional, and the results are problems even during the day. So any type of AI will bring it to its knees.

In my opinion the 3849 should not be sold with that current MP/sensor and CPU combination, but alas everybody wants 4k and chases MP over sensor and this camera is the epitome of that thinking.

Lot's of threads here where people showed how bad the 3849 camera is in performing even during the day:

IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV issues
I put this guy up and for some reason, and I can put my finger on it, this picture just looks strange. The grass kind of looks like digital or something. The camera is on the default settings but I feel like I have tweaked most of them. Any suggestions? IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV is the camera.

IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV loses connection/reboots during the day
I have a IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV (8MP, Full-color night, 1/2.8” CMOS (3840 × 2160) @20 fps). I also have several IPC-HDW5831R-ZE, IPC-HDW2831T-ZS-S2 , and IPC-HDW4431C-A. The IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV disconnects and reboots during the day, I have no issues during the night. It's my only cam that has this...

Replaced HDW5442TMP-ASE by HFW3849T1P
Hello everybody! I replaced my favourite camera HDW5442TMP-ASE with new HFW3849T1P and I came accorss that HDW5442TMP-ASE has much better picture than newer one. I replaced it because HFW3849T1P 8MP instead of HDW5442TMP-ASE 5Mp and HFW3849T1P is TIOC (three in one camera). I didn't expect so...

IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV Video Quality
Hi All, I have recently installed Dahua IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV, 2.8mm (8MP, full color, active deterrence) cameras. The overall video quality is good but I cannot read number plate for cars passing down the road (approx 11 meters away) or identify people properly. Is it the expected behavior? What...

That NVR is bit limited, you use all 4K the NVR's decording capcity is bit limited. Lower the resolution and try

AI off: Access: 256 Mbps; Storage: 256 Mbps; Forward: 256 Mbps
AI on: Access: 160 Mbps; Storage: 160 Mbps; Forward: 160 Mbps

Hmmm i read the links so i waste my money for piece of shit? The lens i choose was 3.6mm this doen't make sense?

What can i do now in this situation? Wil BI help? Or fine tuning the settings?
Do i need to upgrade my NVR to solve it? So to minimal which one?

My brother wants also a CCTV set with 4(3x turret, 1xbullit) cams, which cameras and nvr do you recommend? He want also the sirene lightning function.
Hikvision can be also but what i know is the dint have the siren lights.

And this is impossible with my setup??

Does your NVR have those screens?

If it does, as pointed out above it is limited. You may get to do it on one camera. I would try 2MP at 4096 bitrate and 15FPS and see if the system can handle that. If it does, then increase from there.

Keep in mind that most of us have found that facial recognition is more gimmicky and novelty than anything else. If you have to put in 5 or 10 or 15 or 35 pictures or more of yourself in the system for it to recognize it is you...then you shouldn't expect much.... My success rate was under 5% so I moved on to other things LOL.

It can work in certain situations like a business that requires everyone to stop in front of the camera and the camera is at head height. Outside of that, the percentage of being accurate is probably not going to be super high. You will get a lot of false "confirmations" doing a search.

Someone here posted once how horrible it was inside his house identifying his neighbors and others as him. Another guy his kids and wife were being tagged as him.

Unless you spend the big bucks that casinos and airports have LOL.

Heck even in ideal situations like a business with the camera at ideal height and optimal lighting it fails....
