I have some QSee cameras that are rebranded Dahua IPC-HFW3200S cameras. I'm trying to find the most recent firmware, at least version 2.212. Both QSee and Dahua have nothing for these cameras and I can't find any download for the version. What I'm looking for is the so called "location overlay" aka Text Overlay feature added in this update.

I'm getting the info from here: ftp://ftp.wintel.fi/drivers/dahua/cam-fw/IPC-mallit/IPC-HX3(2)XXX/Ver2.212/IPC-Hx3(2)XX%20V2.212%20baseline%20feature.pdf

I tried both of these downloaded from Index of /download/dahua.

Neither seemed to want to install. The browser update halts after a few seconds. After waiting 5+ minutes, I refreshed and got a log in screen. After logging in, the version is the same as before. But worse I'm not getting any video in Blue Iris. I tried what worked before (Dahua/Main Stream RTSP) and let if find the camera and it found a generic RSTP. Neither worked. I'm also having trouble getting any image in Chrome, IE and Bing (I tried IE tab and nacl in Chrome) from any of these cameras.

I tried to install this version from Index of /main/firmware/IPC/HX3(2)XXX 2.212/General_IPC-HX3(2)XXX_Eng_N_V2.212.0001.0.R.20131224.

It restored the video but didn't update the version. It seems the only difference is PAL verses NTSC which I don't think matters.

I wonder if Qsee added something to prevent updating the software or the firmware is not for this camera. The readme in the dh-vision site says it supports the hfw3200s. I'm figuring the camera type from http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:85/cgi-bin/magicBox.cgi?action=getDeviceType which returns type=ipc-hfw3200s.

Any ideas what's going wrong? Thanks

Billv, did you ever get the General_IPC-HX3(2)XXX_Eng_P_V2.420.0000.0.R.20140414.bin firmware to update on your old qsees? I have some as well and tried the config tool with no luck. Also do you try to view the video via a web browser. That won't work either. Thanks

No I never got it to update the firmware using the config tool but I'm not sure what he means by 'old config tool' - a version number would be useful. Nor which port - TCP, UDP, HTTP or RSP...

I have never gotten this camera to show in a web browser. I use Blue Iris to view the cameras and connect with Chrome if I need to update the the settings. Blue Iris allows me to see all of the cameras. There is also an Android (and IOS I think) app that allows me to also see the cameras anywhere I have my smart phone. I run Blue Iris on a separate computer dedicated to the task (because it is also recording the video) and I use Google remote Desktop to view the desktop on my laptop.

This is the config tool - ConfigTool - Dahua Wiki

It is a on the QSee website but couldn't get the firmware updated with that version.

I could see the camera through it as long as I knew the assigned IP.

Copy on blue Iris.

Anyway, Thanks for the reply. Good luck.
