Good Morning

I have a strange situation where my camera is flickering regularly througout the day and night, often for short periods.
I've tried different setteting, codecs, shutter times, streamtypes etc. even disabling the IR Light and illuminate with an external IR.
But it keeps flickering somehow.

Does anybody has had a similar experience?

My camera is a Dahua HDBW4631R-AS

See youtube video

clean the dome off. It is reflection the IR and dirt.
After cleaning provided a day and night video.

1) Is the camera using a POE or a power supply ?
2) Did you make the ethernet cable of buy a complete cable ?
3) How log is the ethernet cable ?
4) what are you using to record the video, software ?
5) is this a chinese hack camera ?
6) who did you buy the camera from ?
7) How long have you had this problem ?
8) Are you useing h.265 or h.264 ?
9) are you using smart codex ?

Provided a screen shot of the cameras settings / video/video.... it has frame, iframe, bit rate type....

Looks like a flashing issue, usually related to bitrate issues, I look at your settings, looks like you have it set to VBR, did you try to change it to CBR? Constant bitrate vs Variable bitrate is talked about A LOT here. Do some searching.

I would look to the backlight compensation as the source of sudden image change, or perhaps day/night switch. I would suggest it has nothing to do with bitrate or stream settings.

I'm quite sure the camera goes dark because it is trying to turn off its Wide Dynamic Range-type setting, then it goes through the process of finding the ideal WDR level from a 0 baseline. WDR settings are sometimes listed as BackLight Compensation, Highlight Compensation, SSA.

Test do not guess !

Please answer the previous questions.

Ok what I would recommend is to change some settings. Change one setting at a time. Reboot the camera. Verify the change, examine the recorded video .
1) disable smart codec and set IFRAME to 15.
2) disable second stream unless you absolutely need it.
3) disable custom bit rate and set bit rate around 4096
4) turn off 3d nr
5) set image quality to 4
