FRAME RATE ON CAM AND NVR

If the maximum frame rate my can shoot at 8 MP's is 15 FPS does that mean that my NVR can also be set to record 15 FPS and no higher.

That is correct. Can’t make it record frames that aren’t there.

would there be any benefits to lowering the resolution on the camera to gain 5 or more FPS. Or am I know just splitting hairs.
