FTP Setup: Should It Handle DSN Names ?

I have FTP working on my DS-2CD2032-I's, but only using a numeric IP address for the FTP server.

Specifying something like "FTP:\\PeteCress.DynDNS.org" does not seem to work. .... neither does "PeteCress.DynDNS.org"

Instead, I have to use a numeric IP addr like "173.50.201.217"

Should the alphabetic DSN work? .... I am thinking that it should, but I am just not observing the proper syntax.

If so, can sombody paste an exact, precise, real-life syntax example?

The documentation said from fw 5.2 up it should handle domain names not only IPs. fw 5.1 and below does not. I currently have my own connection problems so I can't verify this.

you have to use proper slashes: ftp://PeteCress.DynDNS.org

Mine say "Firmware Version V5.2.0 build 140721" and "Encoding Version V5.0 build 140714".

Guessing that "Firmware Version" is the one, that seems to support my suspicion that I am doing something wrong syntax-wise.
