Ok I need you guys to explain this one to me, I have been on many building roofs thru a hatch like this.

Looks like the ladder is on the wrong side. It should be opposite the hinges allowing you to climb onto the roof.

Duh, wow, missed that, yep you are absolutely right, the hatch was installed the wrong way...
These are the ones I am more familiar with but have been thru the smaller hatches too.
