I did that once in a '74 Lotus Europa JPS at 90 MPH!
I was actually going so fast that grass got in-between the tires and wheels, when I came to a stop and drove off both tires were half flat, I made it to a station and they were completely flat.
Yeah, since they both went flat I was able to remove the grass to be able to fill them again. No tires were damaged, the station was close enough to were only the last 100 or so feet they went completely flat. I was driving real, real slow with flashers onFrom what I've been told, when you spin sideways at some speeds on wet pavement, radial tires, especially if they are wide but not low profile (have high sidewalls) can grip just enough to roll the bead loose and the tires will "burp" and lose air. In severe cases they will take on small pieces of road debris, then the bead will close up again and you may find crap inside the tire!
Ex-wife took an offramp from I-280 too fast in the rain in San Jose, CA in her '96 Mustang, 2 tires were flat on one side but there was no damage to wheels they just lost air and the tire guy cleaned out handfuls of ice plant ground cover, gravel, cigarette butts and old, red street sweeper broom bristles, made of Tampico fiber!
Yeah, the mercury content really messed us up, right? It scrambled our brains, man. We worked hard for a living, raised a family and more. Some of us were really wacked and joined the military during wartime and also attended church.View attachment 210590
