Hello, I tried searching for this topic and didnt have much luck. So my question is exactly what the title says - General consensus on Smart IR/Smart supplement light? I currently have it disabled and the picture is ok, though at longer range [50 ft away], objects look kind of "ghostly" when moving until they get closer. I turned on Smart supplement light and the image became more bright but im not sure if it really improved anything overall.

So is this a option that should be activated or is it more of a gimmick that should be left alone.

Well...
I can only talk of one cam (2cd2142fw). I use smart IR, it works fine.
It somehow sets the IR automatically to 100% at night and is sufficient for me.
I have not tested other settings thoroughly, I am satisfied with the results I get.
Using my night vision goggles the IR is like a lighthouse.
