This stuff belongs in Minnesota, Illinois, New York, Michigan, or Montana for starts . . . but not where I live.

Yes, my brother and sister told me this morning that it is 'butt crack cold' in Lubbock with some snow. Woot. Keep that shit up there, please! :)

Forecast is showing 3-4" Tuesday here in Spring TX. Not looking forward to this. Getting down below freezing each night until Saturday. As low as 20F on Wednesday.

The police scanner sure quiets down for the Car Jackings and the Shot's fired calls when it gets cold but then the domestic calls go up, cuz now the Jack Asses are all couped up.

Those temperatures are horrifying. :wow:

Nineteen degrees close to my house; colder a short distance away from populated areas. I decided to not go for my 4.5 mile morning walk on January 20, 2024 . . . or yesterday either.
yeah, Nissan ( say what you will) has the remote start on mid Tier cars and higher, and on days like today we remote start it twice.
The Honda has heated seats so you can get away with one, but also start that twice sometimes.
pumping gas feels brutal and use good gloves. We also jump back in the car during fueling( technically illegal) but Phook it.

Just saw Houston is getting snow. I hope the Texas energy grid stays up.

Here in South Dakota this morning, the wind has subsided but it's still pretty cold...

Temps across the tri-state area.... some -30s and colder up north....(and that is NOT windchill)

I recall temps down to -25°F back in 2003 when I lived in the Twin Cities...
coldest temp I have ever experienced was -45 in January of 1994 up in North Dakota. That is one degree colder than the temperature at which Propane stays LIQUID. Imagine POURING propane out of your 20 pound grill tank!
