Ok, let's take a step back now to check the NVR-settings.
Go to Settings -> Storage -> Schedule -> And make sure "Intelligent" are always recording on the relevant channels.
As you run an NVR (model?) I would also advice to record 24/7.
In my case I record most channels on Substream 24/7 and will switch to main stream if triggered by IVS, see channel 1.
By using this you can at least use the IVS-trigger to know where to dig in the recording.
