Dahua has released its CVI Active Deterrence cameras. Essentially cams with PIR sensors, siren and white light built in to scare off intruders.
Interestingly, this unit has wireless capabilities using airlfly. They have a non wireless version as well. Hopefully the IP version will be released soon. Lorex (a dahua brand) has been selling active deterence 4k cameras kits via costco.

Interesting. Recently I've been thinking that when BI detects motion I'd like some of my cameras emit an alert...I was thinking an alert similar o the beeping of a truck when it backs up. This would be to call attention to the camera and alert the bad guys that they are being surveilled.

If your cameras have audio out or a speaker you can easily implement this

BI can do this. Has several wave files included.

Yes I'm aware of this Blue Iris capability...but my cameras don't have speakers...and how would BI play sounds on a cemera's speakers anyway?

SD6CE245U-HNI. Ahhh...

1-Audio out would be to connect to a small amplifier and speaker that would allow you to as an example, broadcast sounds or voice from your phone or computer.

Blue iris can send any wav file to the cameras speakers/audio out when triggered. Its in the alert tab.

Audio out is a pain with most IP camera that i have seen due to no built in weather tight speaker or amp (not to mention not duplex for communication). It can be done, especially with a siren or trigger a klaxon, but maybe a flash of light (seconds long) so that it startles the individual to first look at the camera dead on and then scares them off would be ideal.

Personally, i would like to have the camera make a single loud click for this very reason. It is nearly impossible not to look at an alert sound in your peripheral vision. Record 24/7, trigger on activity, sound a chirp and then send me a snapshot to my phone.
