Happened about 9:30pm but as I wasnt watching the monitor, and didn't check my email during that time, I didnt realize it until 11:30pm when checking email before bed I see this

That got my attention so after doing a quick armed recon of the property, I start checking all of the cameras. (God I love a WML laser/light combo for this)
He comes walking down the street 2 minutes prior to my backyard, very aware of the cameras (I've seen him before on another report of suspicious person on the community FB page)

He walks out of view into a carport 3 houses past ours.
30 seconds later the homeowner pulls into that driveway and another 30 seconds and he's racing through my backyard

I called the Sheriff about Midnight, gave him the rundown, and a few pics. No report filed as I had no proof of anything illegal. They did patrol a few times during the night.

So what I learned, or confirmed

1- As annoying as they can be I need to turn on push alerts 24/7 for certain cameras
2- The back two cams, Backdoor and Dock are running Manual Exposure 0-6 at night, so about 1/180. But still some motion blur, so will strive to add some IR and run 0-4 or 1/250 (Obviously he was hauling ass and I don't move that quick anymore thus my miscalculation on shutter speed testing ) If it had been one of us old farts it would have been fine
3- The zoomed in Z4 on the street is invaluable for getting good ID shots of unwelcome critters
4 - I've been putting off what to do about that other corner where the Color4K-X is lacking zoom. I need to solve that and will likely add another 3.6mm Color 4K-X bullet

Some lady on the community FB page was ranting and asking what we can do about these incidents

Looks like the usual suspect. Absolutely the push notifications, it is easy to get comfortable in your surroundings, until something happens. I had a similar experience in the past, now I have mostly AI cameras and have BI push notifications 24/7. If anyone is on my property, I know, now. Use all your old cell phones and scatter them around the house.

Yes. No doubt. But it may give you the opportunity to press charges!! Most don't know about purple paint law
I didn't know about purple paint laws. I grew up in Florida, but have lived most of my adult life in California and Washington State where paint laws don't exist. I don't remember seeing purple paint in Florida, but I moved away in 1974 and perhaps they didn't have the law yet. If I saw purple paint on a tree I would not have known what it meant until today. I would have thought that it was some kind of medicine or bug deterrent to protect the tree. That's what I think when I see trees in people's yards with the lower part painted with something white.
