Harddisk is not detected in dahua nvr

Hi,

I recently bought a nvr EmpireTech NVR32CH-16P-2AI 32 Channels 1U 16PoE 2HDD Network Video Rec

I connected a harddisk and hearing harddisk runing sound.

However NVR not recording anything and i dont see harddisk in storage section.

How do i fix this issue

Harddisk : wd purple 6tb

recently bought from amazon

I would try the other HD connector, and reboot.

Also there have been past similar questions that turned out to be the Power Supply..
 
Hi Thanks, This NVR dont have adapter at all. I am directly connected to power socket

Let me try different HD connector and see if that works
 
ESD is a real thing.. Personally wouldn't do any work with a HDD on a carpet. People man handle HDDs at times touching the PCB that is open to the bottom and easy to get zapped.. While there will be many that say they don't have any issues but been in Electronics for many years and not everyone has same home or business and while some might not have issues others may.. Seeing in the pictures the HDD wasn't mounted and freely laying on the bottom. The PCB is very shallow and the bump out can be an issue with how the HDD is laying.. IF moving to another HDD connector don't help. I would remove and test that the HDD can be found in your PC. If it can I would format it Fat32.. Then install it again in your NVR and use the NVR to format it again for the NVRs use.. If the PC don't find it then the HDD is toast. With the NVR being new my guess is that the NVR PSU is fine..
 
Amazon or it's Vendors, have a history of reshipping WD returns that are defective. Just look in the comments.
try re-returning it if all else fails,
Have you tried it in a Windows PC to see if it gets recognized?
The image_2025-01-12_021952020.pngSpeccy App will tell you how many power up cycles the drive has had and how many hours /days of run time it has.

Thanks a lot. The product i ordered was ship and sold by amazon. I asked for replacement .
Today i try with new cable and new harddisk to see if that works
