Can you recommend what used Dell computer I should purchase to run my Blue iris system? HERE

I've read the wiki and calculated my needs but I am still confused.....

I'd like to be able to record 10 cameras at 15fps 4K res. For a total of 1,240 MP/s. And room for upgrades and running CodeProject AI on a few cameras. And of course the normal direct to disk and optimizations to run BI well.

What CPU should I be looking to purchase used off Ebay?

My current Dell 5040 is at 28% CPU recording 10x (2mp cameras) 427 MP/s and I am about to upgrades all the cameras to 4K soon.

You may not need to upgrade - that is a 6th gen intel chip correct?

Are you currently using substreams? Since you mentioned 1,240 MP/s I suspect you are not. If not you should.

Substreams are a game changer and there really isn't a negative to them. If there were we wouldn't be using them.

A member here is running over 50 cams on a 4th gen at less CPU% than you are for 7 cameras.

Substreams allow older machines to do fine as this thread points out.

But if you are looking for a new computer, most would recommend an 8th gen or newer since it can run Win11.
