in the beginning i did but there was grounding problems with the batteries and i ended up using electric with an extension cord or two.

You should send andy an email and ask him to send you a list of refurbished cams. You can get a great discount. You can get a nicer PTZ camera for 300 if he has one at the time. Wouldn't hurt to try.
