It’s been awhile since I had to get into a camera to make adjustments.
The camera in question has a 10.1.1.xxx scheme. My NVR has 8 Poe ports some of which do not have cameras attached.
I have disabled Wifi on the computer and have plugged in the Ethernet cable from the computer to one of the vacant Poe port on the nvr.
Is this correct or should I plug the other end of the Ethernet cable to my router?

thanks,
Tubac

if the (unspecified) NVR is a Hikvision model, then the 'Virtual Host' links under 'Camera Management' is a conevient way to gain access to the camera web GUI via the NVR web GUI.
Dahua NVRs have a similar capability.

When hooking up the PC to the NVR PoE port, you will need to temporarily set the PC IP address to be in the same range as the cameras are using.

Thank you! I had forgotten that temporarily changing the scheme of the pc’s ip address was necessary.
My NVR is a Dahua clone, but I did not know you could gain access via the NVR’s GUI.
