I don't think this happened before, but all of a sudden I'm getting a hazy image at night time. Anyone know why this is happening?

For reference the camera is a IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3, it's about 1 month old. It's been like this for about 2 weeks now.

See screenshot below

Looks like IR reflection from the eave/soffit. Outside chance there's condensation inside the plastic lens cover, but I'm going with IR reflection.

You may be able to minimize it by zooming a bit, but doubtful. You'll need to move it away (likely down) from the eave

Its mounted way to high for good visual ID, ok for general overview I suppose

Thanks. Will move it down. That's the only mount point that I had pre-installed unfortunately. I guess could just bring it down and have the wire be visible. Is it optimal to mount them at like ~6ft off the ground?

6-7ft is perfect for facial ID. But there's nothing wrong with having some up higher for Overview as well. Best to have both
If you have others mounted lower near the door for instance to get ID then maybe you can get away with just mounting it a bit lower, or move it out to the edge so the IR doesnt bounce off the eave.

If the camera is a Dome camera I would clean off the dome and see if that is the same result after the fact.. I have all types of cameras in my fleet, I prefer bullet and turret style for most camera locations but do have some dome cameras that I use in color normally and every once in a while I will turn the IR on and get reminded why they are in color lol. Anyway just a cleaning of the dome can help.. Also want to make sure if the camera has LEDS inside the dome that the gasket that is on the lens to the glass is in tact and makes full contact to the dome. Any leak will be noticed using IR..

This is a very old video that I did on Halloween one year. Normally this camera is in color at this location with lights can be seen well without any issue. The camera has been replaced with a PT that also use in color at night. Have many other cameras that are in the area and this is just kind of a fill in camera.. Audio is bad in this video so wouldn't worry about turning it up lol. Also starting the video at 112 will give better idea without having to wait lol.. Start the camera in B/W without IR and can see other IR and some other cameras in Color in that area as well with better sensors. Anyway at 112 you can see the picture no IR looks clean, then pause the video and go clean the dome off and you can see with IR on that picture looks better after the dome is cleaned off. Maybe it is just a dirty glass on your camera. Mine is not hit by rain only humid weather and camera had been there without being cleaned for a while. Video is from 2020..

He said it is the 54IR-ZE which is a turret, but yeah a good ole swipe over the lens is always a good idea incase it is a spider web or other dirt.

Sorry didn't look at the model. Even my Bullets that don't have lights get spider webs lol. So yeah even turrets and bullets needs a cleaning every once in a while. Sorry I posted without looking at model.

If the clean of lens or position of the camera seeing said All of a Sudden. first thought was dome. If that don't help and camera is a few years or even a year or 2 it might be an issue with needing new Gel Packs inside..

Could well be bug juice or spider web gunk I suppose
