Im getting ready to purchase a additional camera to add to my system. I already have a pair of 5231 & a 2231. I have a location that i'm using the 2231 with the zoom set to 700 (5.9 Feq using the tool). I would like to have audio at this location so the thought was to Get a 4231 with the 6mm lens to use in this location and relocate the 2231. Thoughts?
Is the 4231 still a good buy with all the new camera's coming out?

I'm wondering about this to.

I want a baby camera with audio for monitoring the crib and thought this would be a nice discrete small camera.

This will be my first ip camera actually. My current network setup is all unifi gear and I have a server running Linux and docker for Plex / radarr / etc. I don't have any Windows based servers at the moment.

It sounds like you guys might be talking about different versions of the 4231... the full-sized turret and the wedge mini-dome.

IMO, both are still good options.

Is the 4231 still a good buy with all the new camera's coming out?
The new stuff hasn’t been reviewed yet so how they compare to the current Starlights with the 2MP 1/2.8” sensor (like the 4231 models) remains to be seen.

I have a total of four 4231s, two bullets and two turrets. I keep one of the bullets in color mode 24/7, it does get help from street lighting. Great video under all conditions once exposure and shutter are "tuned" a little.

From what I've seen the latest crop of low light 4K stuff is better, but still not on a par with the venerable 1080P stuff. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
