I have noticed several settings in my Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-Z cameras that won't seem to stick. The ones that are most problematic are: (1) the custom motion detection zones; and (2) the Sub Stream 1 resolution settings.
Regarding (1), I will set up the zones, hit save, back out and then go back in and everything is there. But a day or so later, I'll have entirely too many motion events and realize that the zone has been reset to the entire screen. This is very annoying.
Regarding (2), for some reason the cameras keep going back to the MJPEG setting (I think the default setting), when what I want is H264 for the Sub Stream. Picture of the issues attached.
My cameras are hooked up to a QNAP NAS running Surveillance Station, and I have noticed that Surveillance Station has the ability to affect camera settings. But I'm not sure why it would reset the Sub Stream setting sporadically.
Any thoughts appreciated.
