Can anyone explain the difference between the R-ZE vs the RP-ZE?

IIRC, the P indicates the camera shipped with PAL firmware, which is pretty much the default. An N there would be NTSC. Newer firmware lets you toggle back and forth between PAL/NTSC. Older firmware had separate PAL/NTSC versions you could load (if you wanted to change formats). Since video on these cameras is all digital, it really doesn't matter much if you run NTSC or PAL... I'm in the US and all of my cameras are on PAL.

Thanks for the quick reply, I’ve never noticed the extra letter (P) before in the model numbers. Thank you for clarifying.

Most folks don't include that digit in the model number, but it'll pop up ever now and then. :)
