Folks -does the 5231R have any settings to reduce false alerts from car headlights? Any exposure, settings etc that I should tinker around with?

Backlight HLC - it will reduce headlight glare.

It may not help with false alerts though. You should use IVs/Tripwire instead of plain old Motion Detection. Its an improvement.
