Hello all. I've always found enthusiast forums the best place to start learning about something new. Started researching camera systems a couple weeks ago and eventually arrived at the conclusion IP cams are the way to go for me. Been leaning towards La View boxed NVR IP system so far because if I later decide I don't like the recorder the cams and cabling probably don't need to be replaced just the box. Been browsing the forums for a couple days learning. Looking forward to learning more.

I had heard that LaView systems were probably rebranded Hiksvision?

I'm not sure I'm willing to go the route of setting up a dedicated PC and PoE router so I'm leaning the NVR route.

Its not a bad system, however, you are better off with turret style cameras, bullets have issues with spider webs, domes have issues with IR refection.
