Hello. I'm new to the video stuff. My neighbor has bugged me for a few years to help him buy a camera system. I wanted to hold off until POE was main stream.
I decided the best way to help him was to by a system myself. We both bought a Hikvision system and a few cameras to start. We both bought a 16 channel NVR model DS-7716NI-I4/16P-4TB
I have 2 cameras set up now for testing. A 5MP bullet camera DS-2CD2T55FWD-I5-6MM and a PTZ dome camera DS-2DE2A404W-DE3. I plan to add several more cameras after I have some experience with what i have now.
I've read a ton of useful stuff hear and i appreciate the generosity people have in sharing their experience.
