Hello everyone!
Super happy I found this resource. I have
spent a number of days researching and am about to place an order with Andy from Empire Tech.

I could use some input..

I have read a number of reviews and post. I have spent time researching Dahua Wiki Section and spoke with Andy, but am still having trouble picking the correct cameras and placement for my system.

The system needs to monitor an entrance gate, and capture license plates of vehicles.

Attached is a photo or the main gate (disregard the truck driving in).

My plan was for:
IPC-B5442E-ZE X 2 mounted next to the telephone post. (The cameras will be mounted on an Auxiliary post, not show) One in each direction to capture incoming and exiting vehicles. My concern is the mounting height and the ability to capture the plate when the vehicle stops at the gate. The control pad is only a few feet from the gate.

I could look into adding an IPC-T5442TM-AS in a lower position near the fence to just grab the front of the vehicle. Either the 2.8mm or 3.6?

What height should I place the cameras? Do I need a 3rd camera for just LPC?

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Greetings from Sac

This cam is working great for me setup as an LPR

I have about a 30 degree view and is roughly mounted to my trellis 150' back.

Head over to the LPR section of the forums for more reading on this stuff!

I would think the above camera in the direct line of sight on traffic (coming and going), plates will get picked up just fine.

Hope this helps
