Hello all, i have toured these forums several times but never posted before so bear with me 
Most of my CCTV experience was analog systems but i have just broken into installing a few digital IP setups. I have recently installed a Q-See QC8816 along with several QCN8026B bullet cams around my house. I have been fiddling with the bitrate settings CBR vs VBR but still cannot produce any "great" night captures. The factory IR seems okay for my needs but I have even added some extra IR illuminators to experiment with quality, which do help but still produce very grainy photos and videos. Bandwidth and storage are not issues to me. The live footage appears to be a little bit better than the recorded footage but i dont understand how as i have tried to max everything out to 4MP @ 20FPS with max bitrates. I understand that advertised samples are sometimes misleading, but i cannot even get close. Is there a way with the QC line of Q-See products to adjust iframes, shutter, etc?
