All my camera installs so far I have just used LTS nvr's. but I have a job coming up that will have 18+ ip cams. so I'm trying to decide if I should stick with an nvr that I know or make the jump to BI. I have been drooling over BI for about a year now and have demoed the software briefly. I haven't been able to pull the trigger yet because I would need to build a computer (I have never done that before) to run BI. I am confident that I can do it but I need a little help in picking out the correct pc parts to build it. I have been looking over others builds and I realize there are many different brands and models of parts to pick from. I just need a little help in picking the exact parts I will need to build the pc and best places to buy. I know that I am going to need an i9-9900k, and I would do an ssd for OS and around 20Tb+ of purple drives for recording, I need to put it in a rack mount server enclosure to fit in their rack. thank you for any input

The number of cameras has a little to do with what size BI system you will need, 18 1080P cameras at 15 FPS is completely different than 18 4K (8MP) cameras at 30 FPS.

You need to calculate the MP/s for the system .

look at the following site for other BI systems and there loads.

look at the wiki for hardware: Choosing Hardware for Blue Iris
