Help! I totally screwed up my IPC-HDW2231R-ZS configuration

if the computer and the 2231 have the same network scheme they can talk. 192.168.1.x ....then you could login in as admin/admin
and input the Ip address you want and make it static.
then put the PC back in the x.x.2.x mode.
and look for the new IP you created for the cam.

Sorry to seem so stupid, I can usually figure things out but I’m a little under the gun here. I have tried to set the IP4 Connection on one of my computers not connected to the Internet. Now I need to connect the camera to the computer. I am going to try to do it with a POE injector. I assume I need to plug the camera into data & power out, And plug the computer into data in? Thanks
I’ll have to pick back up on this later today

Yes, cam goes to data/power, data normally connects to your network in some way.

Were you using that injector before? If not, check that it's active 802.3 af/at and not passive 24/48v.

I was not using it before, just planned to use it for testing. The camera I’m having issues with is on a POE switch normally

Check the rating on that injector, just to be safe. There are some that are 24 volts, Ubiquity for example, while the camera needs 48 volts.

Good catch. This one is only 24V. I bought it on Amazon a while back when my switch went down. It worked fine on one of my bullet cameras, but probably will not work for the 2231. Thanks

Well, they confuse things in the listing by saying 802.3 af and 24v passive. But most of it reads as 48v 802.3af and you say it worked with your other cam so should be OK.

What it says, that jumps out to me, is that it is 802.3af and has a 24 WATT power budget. It'll work fine IMHO.

Glad it all worked out!
