Help please! Swann DVR-81580 not connecting to internet

Hi guys,

Came here because I've read that this forum is great for tech support

I moved into a house with a Swann81580 6-camera system already installed.

• I reset it and tried to connect the DVR to the internet via Ethernet cable
• The lights on the DVR ethernet port - one stays green and other flashes orange.
• Ethernet lights on my Netcomm NF18 router flash green.

However I still cannot send images via email nor sync the time. I try to link my app to the DVR - "Device Association Failed. Device is offline, please make sure it's plugged in, turned on and connected to the internet".

I've tested the ethernet port and cable on my laptop - internet works fine.

By what method did you "reset" it?

What is the IP of the network?
What is the IP of the NVR?
Do you have a monitor hooked up to the NVR as that is where you need to set the IP of the NVR?

Ah I just reset it to factory settings via the software
