Hello,
I bought used DH-SD6C220T-HN from ebay. Camera is working fine but I want to update firmware in hope that something will be better/fixed.

Currently I have:
Device Type: DH-SD6C220T-HN
Software Version: 2.400.0000.7.R.T4.2022.3N.NR, build : 2015-08-14
WEB Version: 3.2.1.288535
ONVIF Version: 2.4.1
PTZ Version: 2.04.21.RHNLHCA

I downloaded firmware form few sources (first, second, third).
From third source I downloaded PTZ update file and that update was successful. Previous PTZ version was 2.02.81.RHNLHC

Inside zips from dahua I have these files:
external.txt
General_SD60XXX-HN-MAIN_MCU_Burn_V2.401.0000000.64.R.200219.Hex
General_SD60XXX-HN-POWER_MCU_Burn_V2.401.0000000.64.R.200219.Hex
General_SD60XXX-HN_MCU_V2.401.0000000.64.R.200219.bin

File external.txt is biggest, and full of some codes, it's not readable text. Camera won't try to flash .hex files.

From 3rd party source I got these files:
dhboot-min.bin.img
dhboot.bin.img
DH_SD-Mao-Themis_Eng_P_Stream3_IVS_V2.600.0000.0.R.20170601.bin
update.img

I don't know what to do with these .img files, camera won't accept them. After sending "General_SD60XXX-HN_MCU_V2.401.0000000.64.R.200219.bin" or "DH_SD-Mao-Themis_Eng_P_Stream3_IVS_V2.600.0000.0.R.20170601.bin" my firmware version is still 2.400.0000.7.R.T4.2022.3N.NR, build : 2015-08-14

What can be wrong here? What should I do with other files?

Thanks so much

You may have a camera that cannot be updated.

A common theme around here is don't fix what ain't broke. If the unit is working and meets your needs, in many instances an update breaks what you had working and provides you with something you didn't need. A Dahua Z12E that someone updated and then constantly reboots comes to mind, and a certain Dahua PTZ that loses autotracking with an update come to mind, a Hikvision ANPR camera losing half the FPS and loses the ability to read US plates - those are big deals to have happen. Don't do it unless it is fixing a problem you are experiencing or adds a feature you really need.

Further, it is best to obtain any firmware updates from the vendor you purchased it from so that you do not run into issues. Any firmware you find here or elsewhere is obviously proceed at your own risk. We have many threads here where someone tried an update with a firmware they found on the internet and bricked their unit.

Many units being sold are Chinese hacked units that will either brick or go into Chinese upon updating. Some vendors will be upfront and tell consumers that as part of their website, but many do not or the consumer forgets...here is one such example....
