Help with ivs

Can someone please help me. I’m losing my mind trying to set the trip wire on my empiretech camera. I bought 2 color 4K-t cameras and for the life of me I can’t get the setup to work. I am using a MacBook Pro m3 pro. Closest I can get is with Firefox. At least video loads there. When I try to mark my area off in the ivs setup and apply it keeps telling me to draw my graphics. I did. Hundreds of times. I also tried to use pale moon. With safari or iOS the web interface is practically unusable. I even tried an old windows laptop I have with pale moon and it was a no go.

I really would hate to return them because the video is excellent. I just can’t get past setting them up. For what it’s worth, I’m using them with Synology surveillance station, but that is really after the fact of the initial set up.

You're holding the left mouse button when trying to draw, correct? I don't use a mac, hopefully a mac user can give some first-hand assistance.

I had to draw my intrusion zone via the NVR to get it to work (connected mouse up etc). I had the same problem you’re having with the web interface on my MBP. I couldn’t get it working.

I can’t use Synology’s nvr to do this, I don’t think. Pretty sure I have to use the web interface and then bring that into synolog

First try a factory reset in the event the firmware got wonky (it happens).

Try Internet Explorer, yeah we know LOL

How to enable native Internet Explorer in Windows 10 and 11:
  1. Open Notepad:
  2. Copy then paste the single line of code below into Notepad:
  3. CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application").Visible=true
  4. Save as OpenIE.vbs
  5. Make sure the the file name ends in .vbs not .txt, If it ends in .txt you must rename to .vbs
  6. Create a shortcut to the above file and double-click it anytime you want native Internet Explorer
  7. Download any of the plug-in the NVR or camera asks for.

Correct. I’m encountering the same problem on my windows laptop with Firefox currently. I get a yellow line and then hit apply and it tells me to “please draw graphic

Hmm.. memory is fuzzy... I believe you need to right-click AFTER you've completed the drawing your lines. Be sure to right click on the last point of your last line.

On a mac I am fairly confident the right-click equiv is command + click

right click when finished drawing to exit. not intuitive. this was on an IPC3241-ZAS. strangely after having BI for 3 years I finally got around to trying IVS inside the camera and ran into the same thing last nite.
check page 85 of the User manual as well. i had 3 hours of no motion until I RTFM. :)

Right click did the trick! Thank you so much!
Worked in Firefox on old windows laptop. Unfortunately, I could not get it to work on my Mac in any way

Glad you were successful! I mis spoke previously... I said command + click... I shoulda said control + click

Depending on make, model, year & features of your mac... there are a few other options:

Right Click on Mac

Right-clicking on a Mac is often referred to as a secondary click or Control-click. Here are the various methods to achieve a right-click on a Mac:

  1. Trackpad Method:
    • Two-finger click: Tap the trackpad with two fingers simultaneously to perform a right-click.
    • Corner click: Go to System Settings > Trackpad > Point & Click and select “Click in Bottom-Right Corner” or “Click in Bottom-Left Corner” to enable this option.
  2. Magic Mouse Method:
    • Click Right Side: Go to System Settings > Mouse > Secondary click and select “Click Right Side” to enable this option.
    • Force Click: Scroll down to “Force Click” and toggle it on. You can then use a longer tap on the trackpad to perform a right-click.
  3. Keyboard Method:
    • Control-click: Press and hold the Control key while clicking the mouse or trackpad.
    • Alternate pointer actions: Go to System Settings > Accessibility > Pointer Control and toggle on “Mouse Keys” or “Alternate pointer actions”. Assign a key (default is F12) to perform a right-click.
  4. Mouse Method:
    • Use a right-click compatible mouse: Some mice, like the Apple Magic Mouse, have a dedicated right-click button.

Ya, I tried all of that. I don't get why it doesn't work on this computer

Long-time Mac user here. Plugging a mouse into your MacBook Pro (for right-click) is the easiest--and least frustrating--way to draw intrusion boxes in IVS. I've never gotten Firefox to work reliably, but Google Chrome seems to offer the most with the Mac and newer camera interface. Safari works great sometimes; in fact, better than Chrome, but every time Apple updates the system software, it seems to glitch something. I keep a mini PC around just so I can use Internet Explorer on some cameras or times when I can't access all the settings from the Mac, ex. the "white light settings" that are hidden on a Dahua N55DU82 but visible in Explorer.

I'm using a bluetooth mouse. No worky. nor does the trackpad. The problem I had with safari was seriously bad lagging, to the point it was pretty much unusable. Definitely some sort of compatibility issue. I was amazed at how well Firefox worked on the Mac, would have been perfect if I could get the zone to mark. It is the only way I will log into the interface now, unless I need to right click. I thought I tried chrome with similar results
