Right Click on Mac
Right-clicking on a Mac is often referred to as a secondary click or Control-click. Here are the various methods to achieve a right-click on a Mac:
- Trackpad Method:
- Two-finger click: Tap the trackpad with two fingers simultaneously to perform a right-click.
- Corner click: Go to System Settings > Trackpad > Point & Click and select “Click in Bottom-Right Corner” or “Click in Bottom-Left Corner” to enable this option.
- Magic Mouse Method:
- Click Right Side: Go to System Settings > Mouse > Secondary click and select “Click Right Side” to enable this option.
- Force Click: Scroll down to “Force Click” and toggle it on. You can then use a longer tap on the trackpad to perform a right-click.
- Keyboard Method:
- Control-click: Press and hold the Control key while clicking the mouse or trackpad.
- Alternate pointer actions: Go to System Settings > Accessibility > Pointer Control and toggle on “Mouse Keys” or “Alternate pointer actions”. Assign a key (default is F12) to perform a right-click.
- Mouse Method:
- Use a right-click compatible mouse: Some mice, like the Apple Magic Mouse, have a dedicated right-click button.
