Help with logging in to a Hikvision DS-7604NS-E1/4P

Hello, I bought a Hikvision NVR model DS-7604NI-E1/4P open box (supposed to have never been installed) and am having trouble accessing it.

When I turn the box on and let it boot, I get a screen with a bell icon in the top right and an icon with an exclamation in the bottom left.

If I try to click the bell or the screen I get a login prompt. It has the name "admin" filled in and wants a password. It also says the NVR is locked. Sorry for the bad pics, it is my cell phone camera.

The quick start guide that came in the box says the default password is "12345", but when I type that in I get an incorrect password message:

So how can I get into this box to set it up? I am stuck at this point. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I bought off ebay. It was supposedly opened but new and never installed. I did send them a message and asked about it but haven't heard back.

I tried all the variations from the thread you linked above, but nothing worked. Thanks anyway for the suggestions.

Thank you! That worked. I installed the SADP tool and it saw the NVR on the network. So I entered the serial number sans the model # into the online recovery tool and the serial code that it created worked to reset the password from SADP!

So I can assume the seller had altered the default password after all. Thanks for the help!!
