Hi all!

Hoping someone can give me some tips on installing an outdoor camera with a corner mount. I was planning on using a corner mount so I can cover the front and side of the house and was planning putting the mount high enough where it was out of reach and then run conduit down the side of the house with other wires and install an electrical box and then punch a hole behind it into the garage to get the wire inside.

I'm lost on how to protect the wire and keep everything waterproof in conduit as the main hole where the wires run in the corner mount is 1 3/8". I have an outside electrical box that is 3/4". Do they make an adapter or what do you recommend I do as I am assuming there is some sort of solution for this. I figured I could get flexible conduit and attach it to the mount and run it down to the electrical box and attach it there and be done and simple

The camera is a Clearview IP-PTZ-889 and I think its also know as Dahua model sd40212s-hn

Thanks!

Dan

I just crammed it along the side because mine was right under an eave and I soldered and waterproofed all the connections to keep them small, no wire nuts, but if you want more room for other stuff then mount standard outdoor junction box to the side of it.

like this: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Bell-1-Gang-Weatherproof-Box-with-Three-1-2-in-Outlets-5320-0B/204208007

then you have a conduit punch out to bring it inside.. more than likely that hole in back wont be big enough to pass the connector through, but thats why they invented step-drill bits..

attach it firmly and paint it white to match, it'll look proper.

Well finally hung the camera last night. I ended up welding a plate on the back of the mount and drilling a 3/4" hole so a 1/2" conduit would fit through. Wish I would have made the flex line a little shorter, but other than that it turned out good.

Hey, look at the bright side. You've got a bitchin drip loop now. :)

And bonus points for a weld invisible from the outside.

PVC conduit + enough heat = limp like a dick.

Place in special heater, use a torch (carefully) or put it in a (dedicated) toaster oven (turn often). Bend to desired shape and let cool.

PVC Conduit on brick = limp like a dick all on its own in a few years

real men have stiff as steel EMT conduit, no viagra needed.. conduit benders are fun, you can make EMT do some cool shit once you get the hang of it.
