Hik-partner pro linkage rule to hikvision nvr alarm input

I am trying to trigger alarm input 1 on a hikvision nvr when a certain event happens.

I tried linkage rules with the hik-partner pro app. It detects the event, however the alarm input trigger on the nvr doesnt work.

I selected normally open as alarm type. But there is nothing in the logs altough the linkage rule works. I tried other triggers it works. It is the alarm input from linkage rule that doesnt work. Anyone know why?
 
It is not wired to alarm inputs. My assumption was that if was going to call some sort of an api in the background

Otherwise, what's the point of a digital linkage rule scenarios vs old school wiring of alarm inputs to outputs
