Anyone know what the difference is between the two cameras? Any compatibility issues with my 7608 NVR? I just bought one on Amazon not realizing until after I bought it is was the 2335 model.

Thanks!

I received my DS-2CD2335-I today and I'm wondering if it's PAL only. It is missing the Video Standard option under Video Adjustment to switch it from 50HZ to 60HZ. I can tell it is set to 50HZ PAL based on the Exposure Time settings.

Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks!

Is the mount for the DS-2CD2335-I made of plastic instead of the aluminum used by the DS-2CD2332-I? If yes, then it is the same as my 4MP DS-2CD3335-I camera. The 4MP camera is a China only product and its FW v5.3.3 also does not allow a 50Hz to 60Hz switch since China is a 50Hz country. I'm guessing that the DS-2CD2335-I is a Chinese market only IPC too, hence no 50Hz to 60Hz switch.

Have you haven't noticed any issues with using the cam at 50Hz, I haven't?

It's not just China that uses 50Hz more use it than don't, countries that run 110v tend to us it more.

I wasn't implying that only China uses 50Hz, I know a great many countries do. Just that since the 3335 appears to be a China only camera, there would be no need for 60Hz support. Countries that also use 50Hz just luck out!

As a side note, I'm not impressed with the 3335 4MP camera. Day quality is great, better than the 2332, but night quality is very poor. The motion blur makes face recognition impossible. If you increase the shutter speed much beyond 1/150 sec the built in IR light just can't produce enough light.

No, it's made of metal just like the DS-2CD2332-I. The main issue I had and why I returned it yesterday is the setting changes I made on the NVR didn't automaticly carry over to the camera itself. Also, after about an hour I would lose video on the IVMS-4200 client. Rather than spending time trouble shooting the issues I opted to return the product.

It is good to know that the 3335 camera retains the excellent metal mount. Maybe the 50/60Hz thing is a firmware only issue? You could have tried whoslooking's v5.2.5 downgrader.

I did try smart ir on and off on the 3335 but the motion blur was horrible standing only 15 feet from the camera. I played with shutter speeds, WDR, etc., nothing short of more light would improve the situation. The 2332 had no issues so I went back to the 2332 (for my front door).

I wouldn't do that if you want it to work still.

That's surprising. I have heard the 4MP Turret has superior night performance over it's 3MP counterpart.

Your downgrader won't work on a 2335? I needed to use it once on a 2332 that came with 5.3.0 in Chinese only and it worked great (thanks!). The rest of my cams I used the mtd hack as they were originally 5.2.8 or older.

As far as I know (for 2xx2):

If the cam was originally 5.2.5 or 5.2.8 you can use the mtd hack and any FW rev 5.2.5 or higher or you can use your downgrader to get to English/v5.2.5.
If the cam was originally 5.2.3 or older you can use the mtd hack for English and then any FW rev you want (but perhaps only up to 5.2.5)

With the Newer version of the firmware I did notice that under the IE Browser it has a problem saveing and testing the time settings. when I open the camera to check settings it seems to save them only with the Chrome Browser. Do not know why this I , but all 5 of the newer cameas with the 5.3.3 firmware do it.
