I have reviewed the data sheets for these 2 nvr's but could someone please give me a better idea of the differences between the two?

If you find it to be the same I would guess it comes down to fancy buttons on the panel

There are a couple of hardware difference but nothing that's a deal breaker for me. I was set to get the 7600 until someone said the 7700 is better. I just can't figure out how and they didn't elaborate.

Does the 7700 run better software? Someone else mentioned better analytics but I'm not really sure what they were talking about. I don't mind paying a bit extra if it is worth it.

For home use and 16 cameras or less than 7600 will be fine.

Is a petrol or diesel more suitable for your needs? It depends. Same for this, with the information you provided it's difficult to help you.

I second that 7600 is all you need but gonly with I2 model

I doubt anyone buying NVR would be running a single cam

Thanks. I have been trying to reply for a while but it wouldn't work.

I should have given more info. In a business environment I want to run 5 or 6 4mp exir cams and a couple of bullet cams. I will probably get the 16 channel version so I can add more cameras if needed in future.

I also want one for home with around 5 to 6 4mp exir cameras.

Especially if you want to run 4MP+ cams go with I2

Can anyone please confirm what the differences are between 7616 and 7716? I can't seem to find exact differences anywhere on hikvision's website. I plan to connect six 4MP or 5MP hikvision cameras with the nvr.

Also, I heard that POE version of these NVRs are noisy (due to power supply cooling fan), so I'm thinking about getting a non-POE nvr and an external POE switch, are there any potential issues with that setup?

Basically, it boils down to max camera resolution, H265/265+, dual monitor outputs and bandwidth.

After looking at these I’ve just realised my 7608 E2 is obsolete as the new ones here. Plus the firmwares won’t update from .96

I will be buying the 7716NI-I4/16P later this year. I will only hook up 8 cameras for it. It has 4 SATA interfaces for 4 storage devices and I can run more 8MP and 4MP cameras before it degrades. I plan on having 32TB of memory. Maybe more. :)
