As a newbie I'm exploring the Hikvision world and have come across something that surprises me.
With MD not enabled, I find that there is a huge number of red bars visible on the Playback bar when Smart Mode is selected. This is when viewed on the NVR (version 4.0) with HDMI to a monitor.
I used the Synopsis function and could see that anything that moved anywhere on the field of view of the camera was being registered with a red bar. Every movement (person, animal, tree etc) has a frame and a timestamp and this is irrespective of whether MD is enabled or not. When MD is enabled, alerts for the designated area are being correctly received but this other background activity also continues. The outcome is that Smart Search has to trawl through an enormous amount of activity as it sees these unwanted bars as valid areas.
Is this detection of all movenent normal behaviour ?
