Hello everyone, i have a problem here, trying to figure out for almost 3 hours now. Im out of idea,so i hope someone can help.. Here is the case:

I have an 32ch nvr, fw 3.3.4. which doesnt power on the HDD. I have another same NVR which works ok , so i tested some parts by replacing, with the hope to find dead part.

  • Tried with power supply of the working nvr... Same issue
  • I have also replaced the Front panel Same issue
  • Tried replacing cables , same issue
  • Tried another HDD, same issue
  • All jumper settings are same
  • Tried factory reset.

I thought the cables which come from power supply have to power on HDD, but they dont. ( even with the working nvr ) the HDD powers on, as soon as i also connect the bluedata cable.. strange, or is that usueal?

So it looks like all 4 data inputs are not responding. Because with other nvr, as soon as i connect the hdd by blue data cable, it powers on.( doesnt power on with only Power cable )

Thanks in advance for all help

The HDD will be in an idle, spun-down state when just powered by the power cable (the multi-coloured one) without the SATA cable (the blue one) plugged in.
When you plug the SATA cable in, the NVR operating system will notice the addition and start sending commands via the SATA cable, which will cause the disc to spin up. That's the sound you hope to hear.

But it sounds like you may have an interface hardware fault, as you've substituted all the potential available items.
The 3.3.4 firmware by default has telnet access disabled - which if available would allow access to the kernel log, which might have some clues as to what is happening.
Do you by any chance have a USB TTL to serial convertor, and a connector for the on-board console output?

Any clues in the web GUI log?
