I wonder if someone could help. I have a Hikvision NVR with cameras attached. The router only shows the NVR when I am trying to port forward. Is there a setting within the NVR to make them visible to the router? Or is it something else? I can log into my camera while on the network but not externally. My ip is static if that makes any difference

Thanks in advance

Ouch! That's really not a safe thing to do.
There are many security vulnerabilities on these devices.
If / when it is compromised, as well as using the device for their own illicit ends, the exploit could provide attackers with a foothold in to your LAN and the devices and data on it.

Check out this advice - loads of people have followed it. It's not as hard as it may seem :

If you can access your NVR from the external internet, then you can access your IP camera via NVR by enabling Virtual Host: Configuration - Network - Advanced Settings - Other
Then you can go to System - Camera Management - IP Camera to access your cameras by clicking the link under Connect column, hope it suits your needs.
