I have a DS-7716NI-SP NVR, and a handfull of bullet cams (DS-2CD2032-I ) and a handful of domecams (DS-2CD2132-I )

I have had major issues getting this to work properly...
Inside I have the NVR, and a Linksys router behind a comcast gateway.
I a shed, I have 2 poe switches (1 managed switch-GS108PE and 1 Unmanaged Switch FS108P)
I have the nvr behind the rouer, connected to some of the cameras (about 4 I believe directly plugged into NVR ) and then via a ethernet cable to the FS108P (with 4 cameras) and the fs108P to the GS108PE (with 4 cameras).

I am not able to reliably get any combination of cameras working. Sometimes I can get a couple working here and there, but when I try to get others working, then I lose other cameras.

I have tried following other threads and they are taking about POE IPs as being different than the actually network IPs, but I have NO IDEA how to set the poe IPs. Is this my problem???

I have tried to run several versions of the SADPTool, but the find nothing!

I am PRETTY DISAPPOINTED am very frustrated. Especially since I cannot use CHROME. but have to use IE as my browser.

I have IVMS 4500 and IVMS4200 (I need to also get this working on my family's phones.)

I am now down to only 3 cameras working and have major breaches in our security and really need to get the working!

I am fairly technical on computers but POE and cameras are new...

I have my gateway set for 192.168.1.x subnet mask is 255.255.255.1, yet the 3 cameras that work are on IP 192.168.254.xxx. (which is not in the subnet according the the mask..)
I have the DHCP turned off on the GS108PE, as I want the NVR to assign all of the IPs.

Help...

You have 2 networks -
The 192.168.254.0/24 (ie subnet mask 255.255.255.0) network used by the NVR PoE ports.
You can only connect one camera per NVR PoE port.
If you hook up more via a switch, only one will show at any one time.

Then you have your LAN, the 192.168.1.0/24 (ie subnet mask 255.255.255.0)
255.255.255.1 is an invalid subnet mask - I'm assuming that is a typo.

I have the nvr behind the rouer, connected to some of the cameras (about 4 I believe directly plugged into NVR ) and then via a ethernet cable to the FS108P (with 4 cameras) and the fs108P to the GS108PE (with 4 camera
It's really not clear from your description how the PoE switches are cabled - but they must be connected to the LAN, not to any NVR PoE ports.
I have the DHCP turned off on the GS108PE, as I want the NVR to assign all of the IPs.
That's not going to happen, it does not do that for LAN-connected cameras. You need to fix the LAN cameras IP addresses to match the LAN, your choice, easiest using SADP, then tell the NVR what the camera IP addresses are under the Camera Management pages in the web GUI.
You can get the NVR to do the network configuration for the NVR PoE-connected cameras - but you might just find it easier to set the camera IP address to match that of the NVR PoE channel. Usually Channel #1 will be 192.168.254.2 - but inspect it in the NVR web GUI, Camera Management.
And it's easiest to plug the camera into the PoE switch and set that IP address with SADP, before plugging the camera into the NVR PoE port. SADP will find and configure the camera no matter what the PC IP address, on the same wiring or switch.

*edit*

I have tried to run several versions of the SADPTool, but the find nothing!
You only need to run the newest, 3,x
And from this problem - I'm guessing that you have hooked all cameras and switches up to the NVR PoE ports.
If so, that's the root of all your problems.
One camera per NVR PoE port as needed by your cabling topology.
All other cameras and switches on the LAN.
Job done.

OK, I think I have made the modes you suggested.
I have now moved the PoE switches to a port on the ROUTER. The NVR is hooked to port on on the router and the swiches are in PORT 2 FS108 is cascaded from GS101PE switch.
I am still only seeing 3 cameras (5 are hooked directly to NVR, so I am not sure what is going on!)

I cannot see any devices using v3 of SADPTOOLS (I have NEVER seen any devices with this tool!)
The cameras and NVR were purchased from Nelly's (so HIKVisionUSA considers them GRAY MARKET)
I have worked with Nelly's and they seem to get a few of the cameras working but then if I do nay changes on the network, I lose some or all of the cameras.

Both of the switches are 4 port PoE (w/ 4 ports non PoE). the GS108PE is a managed and the FS108P is an managed switch.
Router (Comcast port1) ->NVR ->Cameras 1-5
Router (Comcast port2) ->netgear GS108PE Switch->Camera 6-9
Router (Comcast port2) ->netgear GS108PE Switch->netgear FS108P ->Camera 10-13

Why would SADPTools not see any devices?

Currently, I have 5 that report
Offline (network abnormal)
and 8 that report IP camera does not exist.

Desperately needing help! (we have been broken in 3 times, 2 times the camera contained evidence that caught the suspects, so I REALLY need this for protection!)

Thanks in advance!

Bruce

Why would SADPTools not see any devices?
That is certainly odd, given your description of how the network is organised. Which sounds OK to me, by the way.
With the PC on the LAN also (wired, not WiFi) it should see the NVR and the LAN-connected cameras.
I wonder if it's worth focusing on this, in the first instance, perhaps the cause may be part of the overall solution.

You are using Windows, logged on with an administrative account?
When you start SADP, does Windows ask for your agreement for SADP to 'make changes to this computer'?
If not, try right-clicking the SADP desktop icon and using 'Run as Administrator' to see if that makes a difference.

Can you list the IP addresses that your know of for the various devices.

I have been having the computer connected wireless. I will connect to the back of the router and try this evening.

Thanks!

Hi guys,
complete newbie here.....

Just wondering if it's possible to view cameras from an external dvr on my hikvision dvr via the add camera method?

Basically I have a Kguard DVR with 3 cameras at my unit at work and would like to be able to view them via my hikvision app on my home dvr....

Just dont fancy having to log in to two different apps for two different dvrs..

Is this possible?

If so any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Guy.
