Hi everybody,

i have a Hikvision NVR DS7604-NI-K1/4P and i am using a Hikivion Outdoor POE Cam.
The system works fine for the last year and for two weeks the Camera went offline. I checked everything from Software Side and get no solution to bring the camera online.
I changed the CAT6 Cable from the DVR to the Camera. The Camera was for 1 second online, then again offline. I use another Cable and the Camera came again for one second online.

My distributer has no answer. They dont know, if it is the NVR or the camera. It is a impact to send the camera or NVR to the distributer. Anybody of you had the same problem? I dont know if it is the camera or NVR. (or somthing else)

May somebody can help me! :)

thanks in advance!
Michael

I think a start would be to download the Hikvision SADP tool (Tools) and install it on a PC that is physically on the same network to see if the camera is discovered. If it sees the camera, at least you know it turns on and can troubleshoot further.

thank you for your advice. i already downloaded the tool. i only see the DVR. I put also the Network Cable from the DVR LAN Port into the POE Port. I can see any camera. Only for a second the camera will be listed.

I changed the CAT6 Cable from the DVR to the Camera.
Did you inspect the camera RJ45 connector with a magnifying glass to check if there was any corrosion due to moisture ingression?
What do the PoE port lights on the back of the NVR show when the camera is connected?
It may be worth powering the camera with an external 12v supply with its ethernet cable connected to a LAN port (to avoid having both PoE and 12v simultaneously) and checking if SADP can see it. SADP does not require the PC to use the same IP address range as the camera.

To check if the camera is in a bootloop, perhaps due to a hardware fault or firmware corruption - set the PC IP address to be in the same range as you have seen the the camera using, and with the PC connected to an unused NVR PoE port, use
ping -t <camera_IP_address>
and see if the responses repeat periodically.
