I wanted to start this thread as a placeholder for an issue I'm having with one of my Hikvision IP cams. The cam has an issue switching from night/day every morning now. Switching from day to night mode is not a problem but going from night to day the camera just keeps cycling the day/night mode.
Things I know at this point are:
~well, I thought it was the Chinese version but my day display is English and I haven't "forced" the Engish firmware into this cam. Warranty out of date>90 days
~updated firmware to 5.1x and still has same issue
~toggling day/night mode doesn't help thru Admin panel
~either a reboot or unplug from POE switch gets camera working again.
TODO > Fixes
~temporary fix is to write a script to reboot every day at a specific time. This is only until I can remove camera to repair or replace
~I will try to clean the camera first to see if that helps
~disassemble camera (w/images and writeup) and see if I can clean contacts?
~replace with another IP camera
I like the Hikvision and have another one working just fine (knocking on wood) so I'm not sure if I have to replace the cam which one to go with.
