Hi
I paid a fair bit of money for this camera some time ago from genuine authorised UK supplierandtested it on my router as I knew it would be sometime until I could fit it I wanted to make sure it worked.
I finally managed to get NVR set up and my other cameras and got a guy to mount this big un on the chimney high up on roof.
When plugging it into NVR I could not access it and was not sure if I had had bad connection on cat6 end I had put on or if it was something else.
I ordered a POE injector so I could put a direct cat6 from my router up and use SADP to check and got company back today to go up on roof and connect new CATg, it turns out when I tested cam many months ago I turned off DHCP and put in a stattic (so was never going to work with NVR) and put a password in.
I now cannot access this camera from ground level as no idea of password.
I have emailed HIKVSION SUPPORT and have spent last week trying to get in touch with ukseller who I spent well over £1000 with (doesnt return calls).
Can somebody please help me access camera or tell me where reset is on this model so I can pay company to come back for a third time to go on roof.

many thanks

On last nerve
K

What version of firmware did SADP show for the camera?

With a little uncertainty as I'm unfamiliar with that specific model ...

If you are very lucky and it's older than 5.4.41 then you should be able to reset the password with the updated version of the reset tool here : Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

And if it has the newer, backdoor-fixed firmware, you can reset to defaults without physical access by re-applying the same firmware using the Hikvision tftp updater tool, (but not the firmware) available with instructions from the second dropbox link here : Custom Firmware Downgrader 5.3.0 Chinese to 5.2.5 English

*edit*
Or, a long shot but easy to try, point the browser at the camera IP address as shown in SADP and use this URL and see what happens :
http://<camera_IP_address>/System/configurationFile?auth=YWRtaW46MTEK

Hi
Firstly, thank you so much for response, and from a fellow Scot :).
Sadp shows Software version V5.4.8 build 170210
I am losing it with this - way out of my comfort zone will try the firmware thingy. i dontknow which firmware to use and not sure i understand the instructions correctly.
Last option you give kust gives me a pop up asking for user and password.
Many thanks
K

OK, so that version of firmware, and the pop-up asking for user/password confirms that the camera isn't vulnerable to the 'Hikvision backdoor', so the reset method I linked to won't work.

Which leaves either trying the tftp updater, or hauling it down and looking for a reset button.
It's easy enough to try the tftp updater - though there is no guarantee that facility still exists in these cameras.
Another twist is that, due to timing issues, the tftp updater can be troublesome or not work if the device is powered over POE as opposed to a separate DC power supply.

I'm reasonably sure, but not 100%, that this is the firmware for your camera : DOWNLOAD PORTAL

So, the way to try it is as follows:
Extract the digicap.dav from the link above to a folder on your PC.

Download the 5.3.0 downgrader.rar file from here : Dropbox - 5.30 Downgrader.rar
Extract all the tftp files into that same folder on your PC. Ignore the digicap.dav file from the downgrader archive - it's for a different device.

Power down the camera.
Change the PC IP address to 192.0.0.128
Double-click the tftpserve.exe file
There should be a Windows firewall popup asking to allow the program access - click OK.
Check the status window shows 'tftp server initiallised at 192.0.0.128' or similar.
Power on the camera and look for messages in the status window.

Normal and good would be (and I paraphrase)
Device test tftpserver
Connect client success
Completed file transmit
Device Upgrade completed.

If nothing happens, power off and on a few times.
If you get Upgrade Completed - that's good.
Close the tftp updater, power cycle, and activate the camera with SADP by selecting your own strong password.

Good luck!

Hi
Thank you so much m8, however mine is powered POE and i guess if I am changing the IP of pc/laptop I am not connecting through routher but direct to camera?
Many thanks for your excellent help.
Best wishes
K

*update*
mine is POE :-(
Power down the camera. DONE
Change the PC IP address to 192.0.0.128 DONE
Double-click the tftpserve.exe file DONE
There should be a Windows firewall popup asking to allow the program access - click OK. DONE
Check the status window shows 'tftp server initiallised at 192.0.0.128' or similar. COMES UP AS 127.0.0.1 - sticks on "initialised" no further.
Power on the camera and look for messages in the status window.

No - you don't need to change any network wiring.
And for powering off / on - best to unplug / plug the POE injector power as opposed to pulling the ethernet cable.

Hi
thank you so much, ok I am obviously retarded. it did all ok and I get it again in SADP i get device rejected....what the hell am I getting wrong.
thanks again
Roy

it did all ok
OK - so you saw 'Device Upgrade completed' ?
If so - that's good. Please confirm.

Then, with SADP 3.x the status should show as 'Inactive'.
If so - that's even better.
The next step would be to use the 'Activate' button in SADP where you use your own strong password to activate the camera.

Hi M8
thank you and sorry for this. this is what I get - and in sadpits still ACTIVE

The file is transmitted OK, but it has not got to the 'Upgrade completed successfully' status.
So the firmware has been checked but not applied.
The implication is that the firmware is not valid for the camera.

But at least the tftp process works OK - that's a good step forward.
What's the serial number shown by SADP?
Was the device advertised as 'English - upgradeable' ?

Device is deffo English ver - bought from autorised UK supplier and serial shows the following DS-2DE4220IW-DE20170329CCWR738784778

didnt work either buddy :-(
Well that's a bummer.
It's odd that the camera does not accept the stock firmware - it does seem to be the right choice - though the Speed Dome models have multiple listings in the portal. DOWNLOAD PORTAL

I'm struggling to suggest any other options that would avoid you getting the camera down.

In contrast to what seems to often happen, I've actually had some good experiences with Hikvision UK tech support.
I wonder if it may be worth trying this:
Power on the camera, and leave it powered on.
Start SADP, select the camera and click the 'forgot password' link at the bottom right.
Hopefully it will prompt you for a destination for an exported XML file.
If so, send to hiktechuk@gmail.com and request a reset code.

Camera now down m8, what can I do now please?
Look around for a reset button - I don't know if it has one, but I'd expect such a model to be equipped.
I had checked out the manual, but found no mention.
If you are lucky - accessible externally.
Otherwise it's a (careful) screwdriver job and a look around the system board.

If / when you do find one, the usual method is :
Power off, hold the reset button in, power on, keep pressed for 30 seconds (probably overkill).
After a power cycle, SADP will show it as 'Inactive' allowing you to 'Activate' it by creating your own complex password.

Good luck!

Hi
thanks for all your help, took topoff and cannot see one there, no external one - I am so frustrated with this expensive nightmare I may change to Dahua lol.
I have sent file to UK HIkvision as you suggested earlier.
Thanks again
K

We sense your frustration. Over something as simple as a lost password.
On the reset button - these can be quite small, maybe 3 or 4mm square, and the button itself maybe 1-2mm and when surrounded by other components, not at all obvious. On some Dahua devices, it's a couple of pads that need shorted together.

Power on the camera, and leave it powered on.
In case you may not have spotted this - the reset code, if they respond, does require that the camera is still powered on from when the file was exported.

Hi Alistair
thank you for everything, camera now "inactive" and factory reset - you are forum hero for sticking with me.
Nothing on top panel so took off back panel and found switch, did as you instructed and fanallyI got there.
best wishes
