So far what I've tried:
  • short-circuited the pinholes labeled JP11 (inb4 no dedicated reset button on the PCB or any other pinholes looks suitable for that)
  • SADP in conjunction with Password Reset Tool (gives an error 'Device Rejected')
  • flash the firmware with tftp (just nothing happens: i can ping 192.0.0.64 but DVR never contacts my server started on 192.0.0.128)

Is there any way to do it without contact mysterious support which should provide me with working XML to do it through SADP? Because, you see, the person who sold me that DVR just says 'huh, whaddya want o_O ???' And no countless indian or chinese email addresses, found through watching countless indian and chinese videos on youtube, never replied to me.

Firmware version of that DS-7116HQHI-K1 is V.4.25.001 build 201107

P.S. I have DS-7116HWI-SH with firmware 2.2.17 build 150519 and Reset Tool worked like a charm with it!

Try 192.168.1.128 instead.
Thanks for trying to help, but in that case nothing works. Maybe you've meant 192.0.1.128? Here's how it looks with 192.0.0.x addresses

DVR starts to reply after single beep, then after some time stops.
And there are just no ping replies from the DRV if I use 192.168.1.128, 192.0.1.128 or 192.1.1.128. And of course, there are no replies from tftp-server either (just same message - server started - and nothing more). Windows Firewall is disabled.

It's looking like the 192.0.0.64 address is the one probing for the tftp server, presumably on 192.0.0.128
Check the inbound firewall is off on the PC, and connect both the DVR and the PC individually to switch ports, not too each other.

The reason I'm not replying isn't because I'm succeeded, but because I already tried any reasonable combinations of connection.
Maybe there some other approaches exist besides of described in the first post? Especially for the devices with the newest firmware?

Does making a dump require a special hardware (flasher) or can be done via DVR interface? In the first case - no, I could not.

Yes it does.It requires a SPI FLASHER to dump the bios. You have to open the dvr and find the corresponding 8 legs IC (Micron ,Spansion ,ect) which stores the unique data of your device.. It may look complicate but is very easy to do it and nowdays the cost very cheap 7$. Anyway Goodluck.
