I have just started setting up the DS-7608NI-E2/8P NVR and have two DS-2CD2332-I cameras connected to it. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the NVR to see the cameras. I have the cameras setup and was previous to the NVR looking at them through the iVMS 4200 client software. I have searched this forum and see others have had trouble but I have found no solutions to making them show up. I am assuming the NVR creates its own network for the cameras and have even restored the cams to default to see if it would pick them up but nada. Under the camera management menu it lists 1-8 cameras as having a 192.168.254.3-10. I'm on the typical 192.168.1.1 and have tried to manually change the IP to match what my cameras were set to but again it says not connected. What am I missing here??

I'm guessing that you customised the camera network settings (maybe the 8000 management port that the NVR depends upon) before trying to connect them to the NVR.
The NVR and the cameras are truly plug&play. In their default state.

yes I actually set them up but as DHCP for use with my PC and the iVMS 4200 client software. I did not mess with the port setting and thought that when I plugged them in they would get a new IP but they did not until I reset each camera. They seem to work fine now but I would like to know if anyone has published a nice tweak guid for the cameras and NVR settings wise?
